President Trump and Rape Culture – Let Us Begin

President Trump and Rape Culture – Let Us Begin

“26,000 unreported sexual assults [sic] in the military-only 238 convictions. What did these geniuses expect when they put men & women together?” – President Donald Trump

President Trump made this comment on the social media platform Twitter in May of 2013. This comment embodies the ignorance and social acceptance of sexual assults, the shaming of women and the discrimination against reporting allegations, which all culminates to what we call ‘Rape Culture’.

 Normalizing is the word.

To normalize or deem something trivial because it is socially acceptable to think of an entire population as lesser beings.

To our dismay, the leader of the free country embodies these foul values and frankly – it is about time. There seemed to be some misunderstanding with the American people; as if discrimination had died out or that racism was a foreign concept only found in the backwards small towns of the south.

Welcome to normal.

So let’s begin; let’s break the mold and finally make normalization of rape culture unacceptable. Let us look upon the damage splayed out in front of us formed from decades of blindness and finally see.

Let’s fight.

No not just fight, let’s win. Let’s win and not just for yourself but for her and him and them.

Thank you to every man, woman, unidentified or trans-identified human being who has supported and will support the complete eradication of Rape Culture and discrimination.

Thank You.
